ABOUT THE SHOW

The kick-off event to Magic Bird Festival season, the Carefree AZ Southwest Art & Indian Market is a Thanksgiving weekend festival inspired by America's first Thanksgiving.  It joins together Native & European American artisans renowned for their traditional and contemporary Southwest-inspired art and handcrafted designs.

The entire show is woven throughout the tranquil beauty of Carefree’s exotic desert botanical gardens and the largest Sundial in the US.  It  provides a welcome escape from the Black Friday shopping milieu. This free, family-friendly event takes place every Thanksgiving weekend from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Browse one-of-a-kind sculptures, exquisite Native American jewelry, and exceptional mixed-media pieces while taking in the vibrant desert flora and fauna artfully landscaped throughout the four-acre gardens.

Along with collections from more than 100 recognized artisans plus a Southwestern Food Court and packaged edibles cuisine selections, the Carefree AZ Southwest Art and Indian Market Festival also hosts live music and entertainment. Daily performances by Country & Western Singers and Native American Dancers & Storytellers take center stage at the shaded, open-air Sanderson Lincoln Pavilion. Attendees will appreciate the state-of-the-art acoustics and generous stage views.
